for something to write tonight. I'm trying to keep it up but man it's difficult. In a nutshell:
Baseball game tomorrow
Grocery Shopping
Fantasy Hockey draft tomorrow night
No TTU football but there's some good ones. Hey Mo, Go 'Buffs!!!
The grocery shopping reminds me of when I was a child and we did same after church on Sundays. Seems like we spent like a gajillian dollars on food. There were 7 of us. We were pretty well behaved although we always asked for sweets n treats. Every once in a while mom would give in and get something, anything, and we'd sure as hell eat it. Remember that old taffy that tastes like peanut butter? Loved it then, hate it now. I always pushed for the bucket of ice cream, you know, the 2 gallon or whatever it was. Chocolate chip. Greatness.
Well it's my turn to say no, yes, maybe if you're good. I wonder if mom and dad had the same thoughts. I'll bet they did.

Baseball madness
Had a very uncomfortable situation at the 12U baseball game today. During the game, kids were on base, the coach and a parent got into a yelling match. I've heard about them but never witnessed. After the parent started yelling instructions to the kids, it went something like this:
Coach: The coach is right here.
Mom: Then start doing your job.
Coach: I am, you can shut your mouth.
Mom: You're right coach.
Coach: You can be quiet or leave.
I thought it was over but:
Coach: I will tell them when I want them to do something, I'm the coach. You can leave.
Mom: My kid is out there, I'm not leaving.
Keep in mind they're about 30 yards from each other
Coach: You can leave
Mom: You can't..
Dad: Please don't do this.
Mom: I don't have to listen...
Mom: And this is free.
I was rolling the camcorder on this but when I listened to it at home, it wasn't as tense. You could hear them yelling but the mumbling in the crowd, especially the other parents, husband, etc. was not very audible.
At the post game coach talk, he handled it pretty well asking all parents to not shout instructions to the kids. They will get confused and not perform well at all. I totally agree with the coach but he should have left the bench and asked the mom to talk away from the others. Man it was tense and made DBBI look pretty bad. Where were the umpires? I though they could have stepped in also. Did I mention this was the first game of the year? Nice

Got speed??
You gotta check it out. It's cool to see the speed at 100. It's a little confusing the first couple of times but after that it's quite entertaining.
Today's Happenin's
- Hit the Buck on the way to Ft. Worth. I just love drinking coffee and driving. The air in the truck smells like the Buck, listening to the Ticket Schtick...Greatness
- Geek speak for about 5 1/2 hours. Some people there are really smart and there are some school districts that are very lucky. There are others that are..well..
- Texas Virtual Schools is extremely interesting to me. The ability to teach a class with no discipline problems, awesome.
- Shoulda stopped at the Buck on the way back but just couldn't do it. I musta had the tea from caffeine hell for lunch. I was thinking faster than I could speak. Sonny's tea...gecha some.
- After picking up the boys at school, mowed the lawn, weeded eated (word?) and edged in 1 1/2 hours. If I had brought out the blower I would have gotten to the hour and a half mark again. Thing is, it was great. The truck said it was 78 degrees! Almost fun.
- Baseball practice, last one before the first game. The boy was off the hook, couldn't stand still, follow instructions or quit kicking the dirt. Will I think that's cute when it's the grandson/daughter? Hope so.
- Chips and queso for dinner at 8:00 pm. I don't like eating that late, especially something like that but man it was good. The wife can make some good squeezo.

Labor Day Thoughts
What is labor day? I think it's just a government created holiday to stir up $$$ for the economy. How many sales are there today? Aren't 3/4 of them mattress stores? Oh, I see, we need more rest so the idea of everyone taking a day off to buy mattresses will add up to more hours of sleep. It all makes sense now.
